    You could try Tizag.com and Gary Simon's website: garysimon.net (use Google and do a search on "how to design a website" and the right pages should pop up). However, I'm not sure if both go well together or not. Depends on the approach you take.

    w3schools.com of course, and in that site many lesson modules and it can be downloaded.

    As previously mentioned, Lynda.com is excellent and you'll find that a 7 day trial is available so that you can try it before you spend a dime. Another resource that I've used even recently is tutsplus.com, which is another excellent resource including ebooks, videos, and written articles.

    This is really a good to make ourselves perfect for web designing. However, along with this practices I would also like to go with the w3schools suggestion.
