I have kind of a weird problem and I'd appreciate it greatly if you could help. My site's own IP address was listed as external linking site 2856 times in Google Search Console. I have no idea what could be causing this. I have not modified the site in any way and this just showed up in the last few months. I am using Nginx and everything works fine. I Googled a lot and the answers are always the same. The most obvious answers "This is a web server configuration issue, but no need to worry if you have canonical tags" Do you agree with that? What kind of weirdness that would cause? Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do about this? Everypage has a canonical URL by the way.
Many people have experienced similar problems, often due to misconfigured redirects or links being improperly recognized by Google. While having canonical tags is a good practice, it might be worth checking your server settings and ensuring there aren’t any unintended redirects or links pointing back to your own IP. Connecting with an expert who can dig deeper into your Nginx configuration might also help clarify this mystery!
Hey, I've seen this kinda thing before. Its usually something weird with how your servers set up or maybe some funky links on your site. You should probably check your nginx settings and make sure you dont have any IP addresses in your pages by accident. Also, might be good to see what your real IP is. You can use my location to check that easy. Compare it to whats in Search Console. If everythings looks right on your end, could just be Google being weird for a bit. Dont stress too much if you got your canonical tags, but keep an eye on it
