Hi, My sites were offline last thursday for about 12 hrs due to a server problem, today all the sites on that server have moved +50 in the google SERPS. No need to say that this really s***ks big time, does anybody have a clue of this is a reason for a Google penalty and if so, if the penalties are long and hard for this?
Maybe you linked each site to the other , and google has dicovered it . or maybe it is only a temporally serp drop .. wait and see .
Hello... Maybe they already started doing this... (if i understood correctly) Website Speed May Soon Affect Your Sites Rankings thx M1
The websites are all over a year old so that's not it, I am removing all the interlinks between the sites now
Please explain +50 ? do you mean all your sites are on 5th page of results for keyword terms? Im not sure that it matters how old site is if hosting is slow or site down for so long.. (read the thread i offered) Again i dont even know if they have applied the Speed Algo yet so... but they have been tinkering with it on different DCs (you might be correct that its not the issue but it sounds as if it would apply when its introduced live in serps) thx M1
I think you will get your rankings back in a matter of weeks. This usually happens when someone loses their domain.
If your site was down when those pages were crawled then yes they will loose serps for a while, that is to be expected as google could not find those pages. When those pages are crawled again then they should start to move back up again, as long as the pages are available. It may take a couple of crawls for google to be sure that the site been down was just a glitch tho, so don't expect to move back to original serps in one go ... it may well take 2 or even 3 cycles. It's happened to me in the past twice, and things do recover .... just don't panic and start to change things or it will take longer. Think about it this way. why would a search engine list you on page one when they can not find your site ? Give it a week, or two, and things should be ok again. vagrant.
