Sites Google Search Results Ranking Busted

    Hi all

have a blog www(dot)visit-the-coqui(dot)com (travel related site on Puerto Rico).

2 things have happened at roughly the same time (may or may not be connected):
Ranking in google search has decreased dramitically
Adsense has started serving mainly PSA ads - I am in the process of communicating with adsense on this issue.

Could a problem with google search ranking have affected adsense serving up relevant ads?

The only thing I have done to my site recently was to install a new template.

My site would rank high for certain keywords e.g. Ropa Vieja Grill+Condado (I would be in the top 5) - now it looks as if I don't even appear in the search results.

I used to be able to do a search for my blog post title and it would display as #1. Now even that search results in zero. Obviously my google referrals have decreased significantly.

From the webmasters tools I see that my site was ranking in search pages (for certain keywords) in the top ten (1, 2 3 etc. weeks ago) - now it's not appearing.

Any ideas - has my site been dropped from google or penalized for some reason?

If yes, what could have caused this (I frequent several travel forums and leave links in posts to my site - would that be an issue)?

Any suggestions on what I can do to get this fixed

    Thanks

Google is a tough nut to crack. I'm sure there are a lot of people who have #1 for some good keywords and phrases, and have absolutely no idea why Google put them there.

I see this kind of thing all the time. It depends how long you have been on the top index. If you have been on the top not too long, then you will see variations

I'd suggest that you run your site's main page through an HTML validation script such as the one at http://validator.w3.org - something I rarely recommend. A drop in rankings can have many different causes, but since there's also evidence that the AdSense googlebot is having difficulty parsing your page, it could be that HTML errors are the problem with your rankings.
