i dont know, id say be a little cautious. When in doubt if a customer wasnt happy with a sale, i just give them their money back and cancel the transaction. are you 100% sure whatever was expected on the website by them was delivered to them? if you can verify that whatever you sold to him is returned to you it might be better. As the others described there is no chance that the fbi would get involved, but clearly you sold something to the them and for whatever reason they feel ripped off.
Sounds like BS as another user said hes just trying to scare you, from what I know they can't do anything about internet fraud
no no he paid then i sent everything and the deal cant be cancelled since he has a copy of everything and the domain is in his name. plus this guy knows nothing about coding anything. the guy was worried about paying over $5 a month for the hosting.
sounds like someone who doesnt know what he is doping and in paying out a large amount of money realised possibly it wasnt the right thing to do and shat himself. empty threats I would keep a record of every im and email etc he sends you and leave it at that. dont reply or give him any reason to continue he will realise there is nothing he can do and just go away at some point
Did you know that the Freedom information Act demands that the FBI list all cases and involved people in cases publicly? You can also request information about your entire record: http://foia.fbi.gov/privacy_instruc.htm You can now easily get to the bottom of this.
ignore and forget , since you have done everything right. There is nothing to worry about. But if the thing is not worth to much you can help him if you like.
As other posted, click the delete button and forget it. I get a couple of these a year, some winner that feels that can call up any company and tell them they are calling the FBI, CIA, and the BBB. They are smoke blowers, its worth about the time it took you to read the email, and delete it..
Until you receive an actual letter from the FBI or whomever, I wouldn't worry about it much, especially if you did nothing wrong. It sounds like he's just trying to scare you. Have you done business with others? If so, and they had good experiences with you, then you've got examples of your good business practices to use as evidence. Also, don't respond to any more of his emails. If he continues to harass you, file a complaint with the local police in his town. You could also hire a lawyer to send him a nastygram.
thanks everyone for the help. has anyone else had any trouble with sitepoint sales, in regards to other saying that your zip file with everything is no good and that they want a refund? would you guys consider them scammers or what? from now on i transfer the domains over first, then i instal the site on their ftp. this is the best way to avoid being scammed i would say.
Haven't had any troubles like that myself. But why not just make a better folder, RAR it, rezip it or something. Is the guy a member here on Digital Point? What is his side of the story?
Ignore it bro. Nothing else to do until the Feds come knocking at your door, which I HIGHLY doubt. ;-)
