    Really man

Where are your traffic statistics at to prove what you are saying and where are your statistics that prove the that you sell more websites than all the world's forums combined

Please back up your false statements with facts so it will be "unquestionable" Stymiee....

The community is waiting for your answer with bated breath!

Also, while you are at it please tell us the figures on the spyware deal that you discuss since you know that DP members have more Alexa toolbars installed than Sitepoint members, since you are the manager of Sitepoint tell us how many Sitepoint members have the Alexa toolbar installed, I would like to see those statistics too man!

Thanks guys, it is always fun to come back here for me, it seems that I come back after being banned to challenge some people in the community that love to promote hype and propaganda, that is what brings me back every time too!

Does anyone really think that Sitepoint is going to provide facts to back up their claims here

Sitepoint listings tends to result in more % of sales than DP listings. Sorry but true. If i was selling a $xx,xxx site for example I wouldnt mind paying $20 and the mods d oa good job sleaning out spam etc.

I have somewhat softened on the subject myself.

In the beginning I was one of the "long time" members at SitePoint that vocally opposed the fees with every fiber of my being. In fact I was one of the few people on there running their mouths and threatining to leave that actually left :D I made good arguments and sparked some good debates but in the end sitepoint chose what was best for them and it paid off. So good for them.

Every one of you seems to be missing the bigger picture here. It took me a while to realize it too.... The fact that sitepoint is charging fees is not the end of the world. It means what most changes in business mean. Choices for us!

Now I know there is a place where I can find a lot of "unknown" highrollers and the well known ones like spdude and lee dodd all in one place. By "uknown" I mean those mysterious people that pop up with 1 or 2 posts on their account and drop a $5k to $50k bid on your sale. (It's happened to me more than once). So yeah if I want to sell one of my huge sites for $40k or more you're damn right I'll drop a 20 for the privilege of reaching that audience. But for the majority of my sales which I don't expect to get more than some pocket change I'll list them on DP, V7N and any other site that will let me for free and I flat out refuse to pay 20 for that. See, choices ;)

Sure, I'm all for choice, my choice is not to support Sitepoint, they took down signatures for content contributors to guest view, then they started charging exorbitant fees for members to gain exposure!

So, I choose not to post on a forum that steals content and I choose not to buy any advertising from Sitepoint!

They choose not to answer any of my charges, so yes, I agree, we all have choices, they choose not to provide facts to back up their hype and propaganda that more websites are sold on Sitepoint than on all other forums in the world combined!

    :p :p :p :p

He is just here to work the crowd Fryman, these guys are scared to answer all of my questions anywhere we meet, the founders of Sitepoint are fearful to even address my questions!

So they send shills out on the forum circuit to do their dirty work for them, they even make those who dare stand up to me moderators for getting their heads chopped off in public!

I don't mind the $19.95 fee. SitePoint gives your listing exposure to a LOT of people and I sell everything I list there for a good price. I think the saying 'You get what you pay for' applies here.

I agree, you have to pay for any exposure you get at Sitepoint (you get what you pay for), that's all you get since they took down signatures to guest view so they could sell listings in the SitePoint MarketPlace!

One can also list their site for sale free on www.craigslist.com or Google Base or right here on DP for free and on a ton of other forums!

I have used the advertise your services section on SP to good results in the past few weeks - one of the main reasons I use them more often than DP is that DP is blocked by the firewall here at my deployed base (have to use a cgi proxy), When I get back to the states and my cable internet I will probably use DP a lot more though :D

I was one of the people also vocally against their price raise. When another member was calling us "cheap" among other things I told him not to be an asshole.

Stymee was happy to ban me (which he said was temporary..but has never replied to my email as to when I would be unbanned).

SP has to be the LEAST FRIENDLY of all the webmaster forums I've ever been to and I would rather sell a site for $100 less here than there just for principle.

I think all Digital Point members should go to Sitepoint to promote the DP Free marketplace as an option to Sitepoint's paid advertising since they come here to promote their stuff.

You know, that equal time provision

Maybe we can dump a press release on Sitepoint, I'm sure they would let all our members post DP promotions many times across the forum to "get the good word out".

You can get as much exposure here by putting a link in your signature, at least they are viewed by all visitors, unlike Sitepoint where they hide them from guest view so they can extract money from their members that create the content that builds the visitor base in the first place!

Plus there is a "FREE MARKETPLACE AT DIGITAL POINT TOO" :)

True you can get as much exposure maybe more but its about who its being exposed to. Sites have sold for over $250,000 at sitepoint and regular (maybe weekly) $xx,xxx sales at sitepoint. Theres also a better quaility of sites being sold ie a constant stream of sites making 4 digits a month and more. So i think sitepoint as a better audience of 'buyers' which is why your almost guaranteed to sell your site. Theres also no bumping as it doesnt work for the sales threads and the threads are more heavily moderated. I think in terms of a better marketplace sitepoints is better but overall digitalpoint is a better forum. I think you have some personel issues with sitepoint though? But really its up to them what they charge and people will continue to pay there fee, even v7n forums charge $10/month to use there marketplace and they have hardly any active members.
