what do you guys think about site maps? do they make google index your new content faster than without them?
I don't think that it does....A sitemap combined with a Google Webmaster Tools account can give you a wealth of information about your site.
NO.. A sitemap will not speed up how fast your content is indexed, however it does help ensure that everything does eventually get indexed.. And like Mr. SEO Ranter said, when used with the GWebmaster Tools, it gives you a lot of info..
sitemap does not speed your indexing time. sitemap is only a list of your web pages . you need more and more backlinks
I never seen any improvement of my site's indexing by the use of google. Even I think that google now only looks on the half of the site maps submitted on the webmaster tools. I dont think that, without site map, it is possible to index on google.
yes, sitemap isn't a important factor for making google index your new content quickly, but it is always beneficial as long as you have one.
Sitemaps - nonsense. Use these on several sites and then removed them. Why - it reveals too much info to Google and is you have several sites all linking to each other this could be dangerous as we found out ourselves. It is also not necessary to have sitemaps - just research big websites to see this is true by going to their web address and add the relevant after that. .
I never bother with them, they are garbage and i have killer rankings in dozens of niches. I do have a few sites that have mini HTML sitemaps for the user though.
I never used sitemap but i still got like 3000+ indexed pages on google. probably will be more if i submit it. but what's the point for my site? my visitors dont care about those anyway.
