Hi guys, I have the following structure as I have more than 1000 sitemaps which I am not allowed to do I have a sitemapIndex that shows another 16 sitemapIndexs then I have each of that 16 showing thousands of URLs, true URLs is it OK with Google, I have about 29000 pages ASP generated, so I generate the sitemaps aslo, every time I add a new page the pages go +16 so in about a month I will have another 500 pages or so. Please suggest me something
I haven't heard of a sitemap index leading to another sitemap index yet, but I suppose in theory it would work. With 29,000 URLs, you could put all of your URLs into one sitemap. +16 pages? are these responses to an original posting? new/unique content? That would be nice to have that system, but if you are getting 16+ because the same page gets 'sorted' up/down and by several columns, picking up on links/pages that are good tools but bad SEO fodder, then it's not good that they are all included. For example... the reply link in forums are very useful for people who want to reply to posts in your forum, but the reply form pages usually all say the same thing and have no good content to offer all on their own.
the site is www.mobile.am there are 1700+ mobile phones 60+ manufacturers and 16 languages so each new phone brings me 16 pages
oh concerning the system I said about it didn't work but Google cached about 1800+ pages I will need to have 1 SiteMapIndex and 16 SiteMapFiles with all the URLs they allo 1000 SiteMaps and 50000 URLs So I have some work tomorrow
You have to seriously consider auto generated pages. There was a person during 2006 who auto generated pages similar to what you are saying and actually got 3 or so billion pages listed on google. Be careful
I know what you mean, you are talking about SE SPAMing, don't worry, but the problem is that I needed to have my site's pages listed, now I have them I actually have about some thousands pages and I don't think its a problem to have them cached by Google
