Hi Guys Please bear with me for what must seem a inane question. But I know very little about computers never mind site building. I have added adsense to my site not to make money ( although that would be a bonus lol ) but because I was told it would help my site ranking? I have studied a lot of instruction's about adding a sitemap but I am afraid it is all going over my head. I wondered if some kind person couls email me the answere on how to add a sitemap in simplified form. Yours sincerly the gunner
Adding adsense will not help your rankings. www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ is the official site for adding a google map. Good luck.
Correct. Adding adsence will not help the ranking but i believe adding adsence can bring more attention to google spider.
Sure - it helps make sure google has cached the last version of each page. For well spidered sites it doesn't make a difference, but for sites that aren't well spidered it might make a difference. Still, it's NOT going to get a page indexed that google would otherwise not index. It just means that IF the page is getting indexed, the latest version is indexed.
Thanks for the replies guys. I followed the link to google webmaster clicked on add sitemap chose add meta tage copied and pasted the meta tag into the head section of my index page uploaded it to my server then re-entered google clicked verify and it came up with verified. Does that mean I have added a sitemap guys? Thanks gunner
yes it does. It also means you can now use the OTHER useful services google provides in their sitemap protocol. [I only use google sitemaps for those other services]
