Sitemap with 500 pages or 50.000 pages?

    The online tools for generating sitemaps usually limit the number of pages to 500 while programs can generate unlimited number of pages. Question is, does it matter if my sitemap contain 500 pages or 50.000 pages? What´s best to use?

    most site map generator sites will only generate a page limit of 500, and there are some site map generator tools that will generate your web site links up to 100000. if the web site links are too long then it is better to split your site maps to different site map files according to Google.

    The maximum size of site map is 10 mb or 50,000 urls. As mentioned above its better to split site map into fragments.
    If any of the condition is full filled i.e, either 10 mb size or 50,000 urls its better to create a new sitemap file.

    Each Sitemap file should be no more than 50,000 URLs and must be less than 10MB. If you have more than 10,000 URLs, it is better to compress the sitemap files to reduce bandwidth requirement. You can have multiple sitemap files as well.

    It is also important to have good internal linking within the site as it helps USERS navigate and discover other pages once they land on your site.

    I think it's better if you can include all your important pages in sitemap. This can help spiders to crawl to other pages of your site.
