My website was having a valid PR-2. Yesterday, I added a google sitemap through my webhosting. then today when i checked my PR-2 is declined to PR-0. why is this so? there were no warnings in the URLs.
When Google updates PR, the inner pages including sitemap may gain or loose the rank depending on the algo prevailing at that time and it has nothing to do with the sitemap vulnerability, imo
I would concur with dairyman. Affcashgains, in the other thread I pointed to the relevant webpage at google, where the company claims that sites are never penalized for including a sitemap.
No problem, digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=62 google dot com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=40318 "Sites are never penalized for submitting Sitemaps."
Generate a standard sitemap and check this off against the xml sitemap. Make sure there aren't any pages that aren't linked back to the main site. Other thing to remember is that your pr drop could be purely coincidental. It's happened to me before and the way I see it is that I'm still indexed, so it's better to sort easy issues out and get the pr back (outbound links that stick out like sore thumbs, site not focused enough, over optimised etc) You may want to consider more content as your raw source code doesn't exactly reflect the finished product! Googlebot would see a lot of blank image-filled area on the page! Finally, I'd say there's not enough original content to maintain a high ranking. Think of it like competing against all the other afffiliate cash websites out there... it's a pretty crowded niche market.
I need more details about this, with the sitemap creator, I am getting linked back to the main site homepage from the inner pages, in the sitemap.xml. how to avoid this and explain me more about avoiding linking back to main site
