sitemap staying at 40,000 url's

    I have recently submitted two google sitemaps and they have all been 40,000 url's. I use gsitecrawler and normally I do not have a problem, but for some reason each time I submit a new sitemap it always says 40,000 url's.


    Normally this increases each time I submit a new sitemap, but for some reason it has stopped at 40,000

    Can anyone please tell me why?

    i dont think they can crawl more than 40,000 urls then, some out there dont go above like 500 or 1000
