Ok quick question, A client has a CMS system on her website. I created a sitemap using xml-sitemaps.com and it has come up with two front pages:- http://www.fionaparr-focusing.co.uk/index.php http://www.fionaparr-focusing.co.uk Is this a problem? Are they the same page as far as Google is concerned. Or is it duplicate content?
Some sitemapper solutions (at least e.g. A1SG) defaults to auto-detect duplicate URLs like you describe and only include one of them (which is most linked/used within the site) Maybe your sitemapper solution has an option for that as well, try contact them. The best solution would of course be if you implemented either a 301 redirect or canonical meta tag yourself
