Sitemap question

Hello DP members,

I have a question about sitemaps and I'm hoping someone can advise me on this matter.

I've created a sitemap through gsitecrawler and submitted to google. Since then we've added another 700-800 pages to our site, however they're not in the sitemap.xml file. So, my question is, if there is a tool that can automatically update a sitemap? This is not a blog, so Wordpress plugin will not work.

Not update it, but you could make a new one and submit it as a second sitemap I've never heard of a tool that updates it.

 

You can automate A1 Sitemap Generator to scan e.g. once every day if you wish.

I think that ur site is a dynamic type. For this kind of site u need to develope a dynamic sitemap. Coz indexing of new links into the google is very much needed. Otherwise it may create problem. Here 2 things u can do. First u can build a dynamic sitemap or u can update ur sitemap everytime u r adding a new link page to the site. So regular update into the sitemap could help also.

I don't think A1 will work since the site has over 140K pages, we've used gsite crawler(it has no limit). I think we'll just keep updating the sitemap.

Well, if it is not a WordPress blog, you must do the submission manually I must say.

 

Have you tried using: AutoSitemap

or even http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/news-20071021.html

 

I've checked them before, I don't think they handle larges sites
