I got some info about sitemap by searching on google. so i want share with u my conclusion.

what you seem to have copied and paste seems right.

 

Site map is a page that contains links to all pages of the websites. It is very important to have site map on our site Search Engine can crawl the site map and by this page crawler can reach to all other pages. Site map can be of two types . one type is HTML site map and other type is XML. It is good to submit in XML sitemap to the search engine becuase XML site maps are easily readable.

 

there is lot of tools avialable to generate sitemap.

You just need to create a sitemap for ur site using these tools.

Then submit it to google web master tools.

 

Site map is like a index page from where google crawl all pages of the site

This is the best method to have your links crawled easily by Search Engines.

Thanks for all that I became familiar with what is the sitemap with the help of your guidlines but after knewing that one question arised in my mind that robots.txt and sitemap are the same things because both are tell us "which one links to be crawled and which one not be." plz clear this problem.

we use robots.txt mainly to restrict some folders from search engines. Like admin interface of the site.

Both should be put in web root of your website. Eg public_html
