Sitemap indexing for forum: Dynamic or Static is better?

    Greeting,

    i am running a forum, but my question is, in order to generate a
    sitemap, I have two options.

    Option 1
    i have a hourly renew sitemap, which will listed with all the latest
    post wihin 24 hours

    Option 2
    I have a sitemap which list ALL the sub forum entry url. So, I might
    aspect this url WON'T update within 6-12 months. And we know that
    after the spider craw the forum link, it can get lots of latest post
    threads, which may update hourly

    So, my question is, which should be the correct way in generating an
    sitemap.xml?
