You can manually ping your sitemap to google using this: http://www.pingsitemap.com/

You can also use: http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=[your sitemap web address]

Also, be sure the path to your sitemap is correct in webmaster. The sitemap should be in the public_html directory of your server e.g. http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml

Did you check if you supply the correctly url for sitemap? www.xxx.com/sitemap.xml? If you are using wordpress, then you can install Google XML Sitemaps and it will generate the sitemap for your posts and pages automatically.

    Hi

it's great that your site has no site map and also you have no problem in that but i want to tell you little about importance of site map for a website

search Engines demands for site map so search Engines can indexed your site almost instantly (all pages of your site)
site map helps very much in improve your site rankings in search results
with site map you can easily tell about newly added pages to your site
Any Search Engine firstly looks for the site map when it comes to your site
if you have all the required requirements for any search engine then your site organic search listing can be improve.

Give Google some time to index and crawl your sitemap.

Submitting once will do (make sure you submit the correct URL path)

Hey Go to sitemaps.org/protocol.php to study the basic guidelines on sitemap development and then submit the same to google through Google Webmaster Tool
