Sitemap for subdirectory blog

    I have a few WP blogs and for one of them I've decided I want to install a separate blog as a subdirectory. It will be related to the main site but covering a slightly more specific topic and I want to make a distinction from the rest of the site.

    In this example, should I create a separate sitemap for the new blog, new Google Webmaster tools profile? Or will Google find the new pages and count them as part of the site as a whole? (I use an XML sitemaps plugin) Is there any negative things that could come from setting up the new sitemap?
