Sitemap Error

    I have submitted the xml sitemap for my site and in the webmaster tools.But I am getting the error like this
    Sitemap errors and warnings
    Line Status
    Sitemap is HTML
    Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.

    I have resubmitted the xml sitemap.But I am still getting the same error.Ang Valuable suggestions.

    Please post the sitemap URL, it is impossible to figure out the problem without it.

    In general if they say it is HTML then the problem is that it is HTML :).

    Yeah the problem is fixed. But the Urls has not indexed yet. How long it takes to index.

    Nobody knows how long it will take to index, it depends on your site age, popularity and stuff like that.

    Make sure you re-submitted the sitemap after fixing it.

    i think you need to submit xml sitemap in google webmaster tools like, example.com/sitemap.xml
