Sitemap 404 Error on Wordpress Blog

    I uploaded a sitemap and all was working fine, and now when I resubmitted it - I am coming up with 404 errors, any ideas. I am fairly new to this! I have another blog as well that I did the same steps and I do not get these 404 errors for that.

    Why do not u use the sitemap generator supplied with word press

    all a 404 error is is the webserver can't find the file. I would place my sitemap.xml file at my root. e.g. www.domain.com/sitemap.xml

    If you are using wordpress, you should just use a plugin. MUCH easier.
