Here is an interesting one With big fingers [and perhaps a little of POETS day] I typed in site;www.,example.com and got 438 pages with other domains with the correct url there as well hilited @ returned 700+ site: returned 329 site; returned 410 any clues ideas?
They are 3 different queries, so you are going to get 3 different results. There should be no space, @ or; in it, and should be like: site:www.example.com The @ query is the same as doing a search for the domain (you will get other sites that have it as content). But there is one thing that is always strange... inurl: I would think yield the same results as site:, but inurl: always gives more... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...ww.digitalpoint.com+site:www.digitalpoint.com http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=site:www.digitalpoint.com
Shawn allinurl: includes those that link to the site by........urm, can't think of the word, see example... www.thisisanexample.co.uk/cgi-bin/axs/ax.pl?http://www.sitelinkedto.com. Jane
The Google API always gives a lower (but more accurate) number of pages. For example, look at this query... the highest page you can scroll to is 396, even though it says there are 1,300 results: http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.sendwu.com&num=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&start=900&sa=N&filter=0
