Site works through proxy, not directly

hi i have a domain that was just configured on a new host, nameservers were changed 2+ day's ago, but the domain doesn't work for me when i visit it directly, i mean when i enter the address in the address bar of my browser, BUT when i visit it through a proxy it works ok AND addon domains are working.
I can think of 4 things that could be causing this

    1. nameservers update didn't finish yet (less likely)
    2. htaccess block (i deleted htaccess, there isn't any on the server, so i doubt that this is the problem)
    3. server issues :)confused:)
    4. my ISP has issues :)confused:)

is there anything else that i missed that could be causing this, and should i contact my host about this issue, can i resolve it somehow?
    Thanks in advance.

From what you stated options 2 and 3 are not the ones. If it works through proxy server, then the server works fine, and deleting your .htaccess file shouldn't be a problem as well, especially if it works through proxy server.
So... options 1 and 4... could be connected.
You can test this easily. Open MS-DOS prompt, and type this:

    nslookup www.yourdomain.com

    Code (markup):
It should return the IP address to which your domain name is resolving from your computer. Then you can compare it to the ip address of your server. If both match, then your domain name is resolving fine, and there are no nameserver problems. If those two ip's are different then it might be namesevrer problem (it's still not resolving fine for you, or some dns zone setting might be incorrect). I could tell you more if you paste your domain name here.
Depending on the previous result, you can conclude that it's related somehow to your ISP if dns is resolving fine from your computer/network as well.
If you do not know what should your site ip address be, try resolving it from some website that has Nslookup option included (for example: all-nettools.com/toolbox/nslookup.php )

first of all thanks for such well explained answer, i did the nslookup and it returns error for the main domain, but it works on the addon domains, which makes sense cause to addon domains are working but main domain doesn't, this is main domain

    hidaho.co.cc

and this is one of the addon domains

    dhide.co.cc

the same situation is with the site you gave me to test (all-nettools.com/toolbox/nslookup.php), i mean it tells the same thing as nslookup from my PC, i doubt that it is my ISP fault cause he is not blocking traffic at all i don't understand why he should block this server. Should i contact my administrator about this issue?

i just noticed something, it's working some part of the day (the site worked yesterday afternoon) but today when i woke up i can't reach it directly, i have to go through proxy and then it works, what do you think this could be, maybe Earth's rotation is effecting site access somehow, hehe.

According to the information you are giving, I suppose the issue is with your host's firewall, try contacting them with your IP. I can also help you to find out the root of the problem, if you PM me the traceroute report. You can find the traceroute report by Going to START >> Run >> Type cmd >> on the prompt type traceroute your domain.com

yeah i know that others can access the site, only thing is that i don't know how many people can, if i'm the only one who is experiencing this issue, it would be great, but how can i be sure? I asked my friends that live nearby and they can't access it either.

I will try to contact my ISP and see what they have to say but i never had this issue before, i doubt that it is issue on their end.

i pmed you, thanks a lot for your help.

if your ISP is still caching, you might get better result with openDNS

I would say it's the nameservers, flush them and you should be good to go

I had the exact same problem. I could visit all the sites in the world accept for a handful of sites that I created. I just bought a new router and returned the old one. I had a Linksys RVS4000. I do not know why this happened.

    The support told me that

authoritative servers for the domain don't have www data

    host www.hidaho.co.cc ns1.co.cc
    Using domain server:
    Name: ns1.co.cc
    Address: 222.122.6.20#53
    Aliases:
    Host www.hidaho.co.cc not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

    host www.hidaho.co.cc ns2.co.cc
    Using domain server:
    Name: ns2.co.cc
    Address: 222.122.6.21#53
    Aliases:
    Host www.hidaho.co.cc not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
    Code (markup):
what does this mean, what should i do?

That shows your domain doesn't have A record for www. Meanwhile hidaho.co.cc is working fine, you will need to add an A record for www.hidaho.co.cc, if you want to access www.hidaho.co.cc as well

    add this:
    - host: www
    - value: 74.63.196.98

    Then you should be fine.

You might need to wait for some hours for your ISP updating, or try to use OpenDNS as posted above.

i wasn't online for day or two, i had some connection problems, and now the site is not working at all, can somebody please check, i'm trying to go through proxy and directly but nothing is helping, should i remove that A record i added?

i changed back to the way it was before the A record adding and it works now, i just wonder will it still not work later on.
