Site with one page?

Hi,

If I make a site with only 01 page (i mean that except the index, all sub pages are noindex), is this good for seo or not? Does it affect pagerank of index / site?

 

Of course it affects pagerank. Pagerank is CREATED by pages.

For example when getting links, you're only passing pagerank from those existing pages. It's a common misconception that Links create PR - That's wrong. Only pages create pagerank.

And in all cases - The MORE pages you can get the better.

For example if you have a 1 page site, then maybe you can get 20 links to it from web 2.0 sites or whatever.

Then maybe that's it.

Now if you have 2 pages you can not only target more keywords - but you can get links from those same 20 web 2.0 sites all over again. And now judging on how you point the links... you can direct pagerank within your site to your most important pages, and stop pagerank from flowing into non-important pages (like privacy policy or something) by using a rel="nofollow" tag.

Good website should have atleast 15-20 good content pages, which can make visitors stay on the site for longers

1 page is not good, if you want traffic and ranking, add more pages.

 

More pages mans more content there is a greater chance to receive high ranking in different key phrases if you add more quality contents. Another thing, it will also deliver additional traffic. So I suggest, do not build and promote a site with only one page on it.

 

I agree with lemonarian, affects your page rank.

 

IF do promotion properly will get PR, but u can not add much information for the users to click so all will leave in a short time, this will cause increase ur bounce rate. This will indirectly effect in ranking, traffic

Yes, it's really better to have several pages. This will let you to add more quality content which is the best factor in seo...

 

Have you made theme based site or product based site..good it's very easy to handle and easy to bring at top place on high traffic keywords...

 

Your own interior page links to one another can help ranking if keyword text links are used.

 

Just create more pages or search engines will see your site as a bridge or as a landing page. You need at least some pages, like:

-privacy policy
-terms and conditions
-contacts
-about
-testimonals(if needed)

As a general rule, the more pages with unique content you have the better.

Go with 20-30 pages its good not too good. one page is not at all good for anyone.

 

A few months ago, I created a new mini website which had only two pages. After adding 5 more pages in December, my positions have skyrocketed, that is why I am absolutely shore that the more pages you have the better.
