Hi Guys, I have a potential customer with anywhere between 20 and 60 million page views a month (depending if he's on TV that month or not) and was wondering what the expected income using Adsense would be if we do 2 ads on the main page. Any ideas of income expectation? He's a sports celebrity if that helps. What is everyone charging to set something like that up for someone? Thanks
There is absolutely no way to predict something like that. It depends on where the traffic is coming from, the ad inventory, how the conversions do for the advertiser, etc. The only way to get an accurate estimate would be to test it. Charge for what? Putting adsense on a site would take a minimal amount of time (as little as minutes) - depending on the actual site and layout.
I guess I'm looking more for an estimate than anything. Are we talking $1k a month? 2K a month? I figure that there should be an idea of what can be made even if it's not 100% accurate.
There is absolutely no way to give you a ballpark number on an unknown site, with unknown traffic origin, and unknown uniques. How many unique visitors to the page you want to place adsense on? You could use 1% ctr as an estimate, but the payment of those clicks could be a penny on up. If this site sells something (clothing, photos, etc) then putting adsense might not be a good option for them. They would be sending a potential targeted buyer away for pennies. The decrease in sales revenue would need to be factored in to the adsense proceeds. With 20 million page views, they could explore becoming a premium publisher which gives them more options on ad display.
It depends on alot of things, like what kind of people are coming to the site, what kind of content you have. There are no real ways on saying how much you will make, but with 20 million page view that is a lot of potential clicks.
i agree get a sponsor other then adsense. with that many people shocked sponsors arent already comeing to you.
you should be able to get anywhere from .05-.50 cpm which translates to: at 60 million pageviews a month is 3k - 30k this depends, of course, on the topic of the pages and what kind of ads adsense will be able to show. for profitable keywords, I've been able to achieve $1 cpm.
On those numbers, I know if it were one of my sites it'd make about $10-30k/month, but it's not one of mine and could be anywhere from $1k to $100k
If you are expecting that level of traffic I wouldn't run adsense you will make far more with private ad sales especially if he is a well known sports celebrity brands would be willing to pay to advertise on his site.
