What is better to get site wide lnks? Or is it just as good to just to purchase single links? I ask because many links are good and site wide obviously gets you many links.

There is a Google filter that prevents sites from getting to high rankings if Google can detect you have bought sitewide links

I know, but say you have a link on a blog that has say 400 pages, would that be 400 links, or would it not matter if I have one link or 400 on the same site.

I'd try to get one link from a site in the text of related content if I could. I avoid the site wides because the search engines devalue them anyway. A good solid related link will boost you in the SERPs. The only thing a site wide is good for is boosting your PR. So unless you're selling PR I'd go for the single link.

You are going to to better long term with single page links. For the most part "G" only counts 1 link from each domain pointing to you. Even if you have multiple links....

Sitewide links can be good if you are going for traffic only and low seo value.

sidewide links count for in the total number of inbound links, so I think they won't hurt in any way, but I also agree that 1 targetted link would count much better when increasing your rankings
