Can I find out what you guys feel about site-wide links on your directories and whether there is a limit to the number you shld sell? Or is it just determined by space? I understand that they will be adverse effects if there are too many site-wide links in your site, as it maybe seen by SE as reciprocal links, which decreases a sites' strength. Is this right? Opinions?
Personally I would just not sell sitewides. But from an SEO perspective I guess it can't hurt too much if you stay under 5 or something.
0 would be the best. But if you keep the amount of them under 10,it's no a problem as long as all of them link to good sites. And I do think it's good to link to good sites, especially to authoritative sites such as http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/ **hint**now you know why i haven't purchased the phpld "non-linking back" version...haha.
tks for your opinions, but until now, have not gotten a definite answer WHY ZERO IS BETTER?? Guess, only when we know why zero is better, then perhaps we can better estimate what is a good max to consider....
Think of those sitewides as leaches.... They suck the PR or life out of you if your not strong enough you will drop 1 PR level and somtimes 2 levels. I would not recommend more then 20 and the perfect number so that you can monitize your directory would be 10 sitewides. Now ... if you ar adding to them then thier could be negative repurcushins if you add to many though its the best way of getting indexed by google and a major reason both biz-king and sleek are so well indexed.. I just bought 90 sitewides on directories and will see what happens soon. thx malcolm
I think 20 is the standard. I can't recall--but I read somewhere that Google thinks 50 OBL from a page is not bad. Though in my view --I get along with Malcolm--they r LEACH
Was that sarcasism? Ive got 90 sitewides plus my network pushin my 2 pitbulls Have i done the right thing? we will find out... thx malcolm
Yup --it hurts --just went away 20 bucks from my already reduced PP balance yesterday for a PR6 link from a site-wide with iwebtool
