    Hey DP members,

For SEO purposes, is it better to have a sitewide link on lets say a PR5 site with 10,000+ pages indexed in Google OR is it better to just have one link on the home page of that PR5 site?

go with the homepage and the most relevant theme related pages, care about the pages title and the text content in their, other wise stick with the home page only to make valuable link other than quantity links. but it's depend on the site it self.

Every link helps, so if you get a sitewide, each additional link should provide a tiny amount of PR juice. Even if they don't give any additional pop, you shouldn't get penalized for it (or your competition could drop a bunch of sitewide links and get you dumped in the SERPs).

But, like IEMailer.com said, the best juice will come from the most relevant pages.

I guess "some" say anything you want :D
So in their words, if i want to get rid of a competitor, i should place a sitewide link to their site. Google wouldn't buy that and you should neither. :D

Sitewides are better for traffic. Each link on an internal page is a potential exit point to your site.

Some people fear that sitewides raise a red flag for penalty by the search engines. But we don't know whether this is true and for which search engines it applies.

I would rather go with one link on the PR5 page in a small amount of text.. Google doesn't care for statewide links and don't always count them.
