Site-Wide DoFollow Link on a Forum

How do I create a forum wide do follow link in a specified area. So like, in the footer possibly? Is there a plug-in I can't find that does the job? It's vbulletin (legit and paid for) software.

Also, making this dofollow will have it showing up in yahoo site explorer right?

Why would you possibly want to do this?

Simple, my forum makes me $0.00 and a website of mine needs some backlinks.

Despite them being terrible links, they are something. Since I have the ability to put 2,000+ links onto my main site, I'd like to take advantage of them and do this. Also, how do you know my forum doesn't have page rank? 2,000 links from a forum with page rank can't be that bad.

Thanks for the link. As I'm interested in building links right now, I'll check that out and probably implement it. I'm still looking for and insisting on figuring out how to get a dofollow footer.

Depending on what forum script you're using, you'll have to find your footer.php template file and edit it. The link would then go in there.

But don't be surprised when Google recognizes this and smacks the forum site pretty hard. I did warn you, after all.

So if anything it'd hurt the forum not the site I'm linking to?

I don't see the problem, all he is doing is putting a link in the footer?

Why would he get penalised for putting a link in the footer?

Google's not fond of site-wide links to other sites in footers, remember?

(Besides, if the link was THAT important, it'd be closer to the top of the page anyway.)

How about making admin sigs dofollow? Is that a possibility that would be a bit safer?

How about those Powered by Joomla links for example, surely Google would penalize Joomla.org for these legitimate links?
