My site www.cheapdanny.com went from PR3 to PR0 when switched from cheapdanny.blogspot.com to www.cheapdanny.com. Is it possible that the site still retain the same PR 3 when google realizes that it's the same site but different url? Would I get back the same PR3 after the next google dance? Thanks!
I don't think so all the backlinks are pointing to the blogspot site, so I would recommend trying to get every person pointing there links at your new site.
I don't think you will get those links and PR back unless there is someway you could redirect your previous blog to the new domain.
This is one of the drawbacks of starting a blog on blogspot. If at some point you decide to move it to it's own domain name, I don't think you have the ability to setup a 301 redirect. You won't retain PR & links unless you have a redirect in place. Since you probably can't do a redirect, your only option might be to go through all of your backlinks and ask them to change urls. You would still have to wait for the next PR update to get any PR.
Yahoo sitexplorer will show you most of those links. Just go to yahoo and type link:cheapdanny.blogspot.com
There is a way to redirect your blogspot to your domain, I did it on a few of my blogs a few times before. You just have to insert a few lines of codes into the HTML editor. I forgot how to do it, but just Google it and there's a few blogs that explain how to do this.
Thanks everyone. I have started the process of getting all the backlinks to switch from *.blogspot.com to www.cheapdanny.com. It's going to be a long road ahead.
