Well, I've been an anime webmaster for a long time now, I must say I've worked very hard on my site and at the moment i'm getting around 3000 unique visitors per day :), I was just wondering, but how much would a site with that much traffic sell for ? It has 20k+ members. I'm just curious to know as I may have to get rid of my site in the future [still not for a long time though ] and I was wondering how much a site like that could go for. I never knew that sites could go for so much until I saw the WTS section of this forum and I was amazed.

Well as some of you may of realized i'm a 'noob' in this area. I just want rough figures, I just like to know :)

Here's 2 days of stats from awstats, showing traffic on my site

Sorry if I put this in the wrong category, I've been debating with myself for some time now on where to put this and finally decided to put it here.

Thanks to anyone who can reply to my questions and sorry if I didn't put this in the appropriate place.

Alot of this will depend on your revenue. What is your revenue like?

It depends on the revenue, age, time required to maintain the site, is it established one or not, traffic and more. Usually, you can sell the site for 10x revenue !!

sounds like you need to monetize it better. 3k visitors per day is wonderful but $3-$7 revenue is lousy.

maybe explore some monetization options like adsense, auctionads or cj?

once it makes some good money then you can sell it for maybe 1-3 years worth of revenue.

Thats a good traffic, but poor revenue.
ADsense is too slow with $$$, why dont you consider some other networks to join? And try to sell out some links as well, have a review section in your website, where you can put some these business and your ratings for the same and charge them with a fee to put these reviews on your website.

Well, websites are generally priced at 5x-7x monthly revenue if you get up with someone serious buyer.

Google does not permit you to use another ad network that looks (and acts) like their ads. They do not want brand confusion.

You are free to run CPM banner ads, in-text ads like Kontera or Vibrant Media. You can also incorporate affiliate ads/programs/products into your site. Adsense should be an important part of your income, but not the only income!

Now, regarding how many months/years revenue your site can sell for... well that is a huge topic of both debate and variance. Newer sites will sell for less than 1 year's NET revenue (not gross!). Older sites can go for 2-3 years revenue... based on a huge number of factors such as age, size of site... number of pages... domain name ... branding... mailing lists... source of traffic... amount of work required to maintain the site... etc.

So there is no easy answer to how much your site is worth. The quick guess would be 3 scenarios.

    1. Your site is less than 2-3 years old. Maybe you can get 10 months revenue. So you take $7 x 30 x 10 = $2100.

    2. Your site is 3-5 years old. Maybe you can get up to 18 months revenue. So $7 x 30 x 18 = $3780

    3. Your site is 5-10 years old. You might find a buyer in the 24-36 month revenue range. So maybe up to $7500 you could fetch.

Revenue is the MAIN criteria any buyer is going to look at. Traffic is probably second. If a buyer sees an opportunity to increase your revenues without increasing traffic, they may add more value to your site than just the numbers above.

    Hope this helps!

Also what do you reccomend using with Google Adsense, that is at the moment my only way to get money

Well you can add some banners from a network like TribalFusion or Advertising.com. You can also try some in-text ad links from Kontera or Vibrant Media.
