not in top 100 of Google anymore for a few keywords. wonder what someone thinks or has 1st-hand knowledge in what I did. I changed the banner header to a flash banner header and I asked the flash software maker If I could put text somewhere within the file as mentioned on a seo forum. he gave me some examples of H1 or H2 tags within the HTML of the flash like so: <div id="flashcontent"> <h1>Music Shows</h1> <p></p> <p>It looks like you don't have flash player 6 or newer installed. <a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" >Click here</a> to download FREE from Macromedia . Or browse our site for tickets</p> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> var so = new SWFObject("slideshow.swf", "gallery", "780", "150", "6", "#ffffff"); so.write("flashcontent"); </script> <!--<img id="frontphoto" src="images/seats-ny.jpg" width="780" height="150" alt="seats for music events" /> !--> Code (markup): is this allowed or not very legit stuff ?.. I don't know as i just did this as a test..So far, no good. he site looks better but with no SERPS, it's not gonna cut it. it used to be just a img.jpg file with alt text. ummm..OK..this test page had noindex and nofollow robot tags. that probably had somethin to do with it. I will see what happens in 24 to 48 hrs..maybe it'll rise again. nope , not a new site.
if i were you i will stick with the image for fast loading and search engine friendly, i really dont think that spider could read flash.
So Troy, you had a flash banner image, tried to SEO that part, and SERPS dropped? now it's OK after going back to old style..? how in the world do some sites NOT lose SERPs and edit part of the page into flash.?
I had the same problem, I had a thread on my forum that was getting me 500 hits a day from Google for like a week then it was killed and now it gets like 25 hits a day..
