I've estimated earnings at $1,425 over 12 months. I'm thinking about selling up but I haven't got a clue how to value it. Could someone let me know what it should be worth? Thanks Scott
I would fix some layout glitches. Not sure if it is affecting everyone, but I am on Firefox and it is affecting me. PR4 is good. Unique visits is good. Depending on revenue, I would say you might be overvaluing a bit, but I would just let the market decide.
I haven't valued it... I want someone to value it. The price up there is my yearly profit. I'm waiting on a new design... should probably just wait a few months and see if the SEO i've learend pays off eh!
If you are valuing it then it is the same as selling any business. It's not a guaranteed income stream and part of the business is you. Once you sell it I wouldnt expect it to continue an upward income stream as you know the "ins and outs" of the site, the market etc.
After it has run a few years you should have a very good idea on what it's worth to you in one year. After that sell it for three times the value. It should be easy to sell then, and you should have more than enough information for the buyer.
That's just a common rule of thumb kind of thing for business value. Make your expectations realistic, because the one making the purchase will certainly be looking to buy a money maker, not a pipe dream.
That is what I mean by not keeping a realisitc outlook. Who would buy a site that would take 5 years ROI?
