    Hi everyone,

My forums run slow like hell and i got internal server error message a lot. I contact my hosting company and they said my forums exceed the memory limit. Every time i contact them and they said the problem is on my side. I tested by turn off the forums and went back to my forums and the speed is the same, no improve at all. the forums was turned off and still high resource from the server?

I don't know how much memory they give/acct. My forums just runs the vbulletin 3.7.3 and 2 other add-on that's all. Does anyone of you know any shared host out there offers a good memory/cpu limit? Please don't give me an expensive host :) . Is there any tool we can check and see how much resource a website uses? by the way i use dreamhost

How many members online at the same time on your forums? How long is the session time?

With that amount of users, you should have a good VPS with 1-2GB RAM, not a shared hosting anymore. Even you can consider a dedicated server.

If you have vbplaza on your forum, that seemed to slow mine down a lot when we installed it.

the best answer is to get a better host ;)

yeah 500 isn't a big number and they're not browsing at the same time. i'm searching for a better host. dreamhost is really suck. they don't have phone support or live chat support. whenever i have problem with the site then i have to wait for their emails

Understand that you will need a VPS and to switch shared hosting companies will not help at all. Because eventually you will have different errors but it all leads back to lack of memory.
