    Hi All,

I'm just launching a new site, its got a few pages at the www.url.com and also a forum at url.com (without the www)

Which address should I optimise? and why? or could i legitimately optimise both ?

also as i optimise and get PR on one will it pass to the other like a normal site? the forum is set up through my hosting comapny as part of the package.

    Thanks

So wait, you're launching an actual SITE at www.domain.com and a forum at domain.com? Please clarify.

I have registered the usual domain http://www.asalesforum.com, through my hosting provider, the forum is at http://asalesforum.com/Forum/ and is provided by my host.

(if you look please ignore the text etc, it's just in there temporarily until im out the sandbox and have built some PR)

but I'm unsure which URL to submit to directories etc, or if I can register either and get the same benefits.

    Thanks

Okay, that's a different situation than suggested by your first post.

You probably want to submit and promote both http://www.asalesforum.com AND http://www.asalesforum.com/forum/ although you might also think about setting the forum up as a subdomain: http://forum.asalesforum.com and again submitting/promoting both links.

If http://www.asalesforum.com is merely a "landing page" for the forum, though, most directories probably won't allow both listings. In that case. my recommendation would be to promote http://forum.asalesforum.com or http://www.asalesforum.com/forum/ and then simply link to http://www.asalesforum.com from the forum.

yes the main URL is just a landing page for now, once the site gets busy I will add more pages and content, so ill do it that way for now and then can revise it further down the line,

    Cheers

www.asalesforum.com is one site and asalesforum.com/Forum/ is another
so you will submit whichever you want to promote
the pr will not pass from one to another unless they are linked
