Sorry I feel a little silly asking this simple question but I was curious and couldn't find the answer, does site traffic have any effect on your rank. Say I have a good day traffic wise, will that help boost my rank. As always, thanks, sorry for what I feel is a pretty basic question.

As far as I know, traffic does not influence PageRank; PageRank depends upon the number of links TO a page, and the quality of those links.

I completely agree with DuncanM. It's very unlikely that the amount of traffic a site receives will influence it's page rank.

I might be confused here but are you asking whether traffic has any affect on your serps or PR?

If you are asking does traffic have anything to do with your serps, I would have to say that there might be some part of the algo that does consider this. If you are asking does it have any benefit to your PR, no it doesnt.

No, site traffic per say doesn't correlate with ranking, BUT you'll notice that a lot of the time search engines, Google included, will through a tracking link over the top of the search results for any given keyword (especially the more precarious ones). It is common assumption that these are to determine relevency for sites within a SERP set. More links = more interest. So with that in mind, its very benefitial to get those SERP descriptions down right so you get the clicks you need.
