Site Traffic Going Down

hi,
I have a discussion forum in Tamil language. i got around 1800 visitors per day till few days before. but now there is a sudden breakdown in traffic that am getting only 600 visitors. what may be the reason for this?

hi jeniferprince you are saying that you have discussion forum in Tamil language so you are gating visitors from only Tamil nadu , other reason will be your visitors not returning back on your site. so improve your site, promote your site in Tamil nadu .

Yes i will do.. but why this sudden change occurred? Traffic is going down due to content means there may be a difference like 100 or 200 hits in successive days. Will not go like 50 %. am i right?

Yes it can drop so rapidly. I have a website that had 10000 visitors / day. Next few weeks was only 1000. Maybe the topic is not so interesting any more.

 

i am slight confuse regarding your hits because your site had not enough high pr supported links

 

u should promote your site in relevant forum, blog

 

maybe your competitors were working faster , i think php-nuke is not reliable at all , once my site been hacked using this script

 

Change your layout, you may get better result, I had same sort of same issue, i worked alot but my site www.syednetworks.com never cross 600/day visitors, last month i changed my theme and after one week I started getting more than 1200/day visitors.

 

layout had not that much big impact on visitors, bcoz google read only text

 

Analyze your sources of visitors, look into each one individually, see where it dropped and investigate why.

If you want to increase the traffic of your forum, then I think it would help increase its traffic if you change its layout and design. Some members enjoy posting in a forum if they like the user navigation, design and layout.

jsut keep doing what you were doing before..sometimes we may think that it is fine to work less because you are now gaining for what you've done before , but this is not good for you have to continue working on it to maintain your good status...
