site-targeted campaign

Hi all I have a question on how you would approach this. I have been running a site targeted campaign (on Adwords) for one week now, and the results are great.

I get a relatively good CTR and even better Conversation Rate. I need though to lower the cost, so what i did is paused any websites that have o clicks and thousands of impressions.

My question is what would you do next? I am thinking of pausing any sites that have clicks but not conversations.

Any ideas/suggestions would be really appreciated!!

I would agree with you. If you have clicks but no conversions it is possible that the message of the website is not geared toward what you are selling. For example. You could be selling break pads, but if your advertising on a website blogging about car upgrades (stereo, video, computer navigation, etc...) it probably is not the best place to be advertising breaks.

    Make sense?

Yes definitely JF-Panther, I was very careful on choosing the sites, for the obvious reasons. So I have relevant sites, then I had the camp. Running for a week and now i need to make it most cost effective. So I paused all the site that I didn’t get any clicks and now I am thinking of pausing all camp. That I don’t have any conversations, any suggestions?

I think your suggestion is a great one. I also would look and see if there is a pattern or a time of day your website is converting and set up Ad Scheduling. Why pay for a click at 3 AM if you never get conversions around that time. Also, set up a daily budget to control your spending. Let me know what you think and if it works.

To be honest I have never used ad scheduling! I might give it a try with this camp, since i am testing!! Regarfing the daily budget to control your spending thats already set.

Pay close attention to the location of the ad on the sites that aren't getting click thrus. Just because you see a nice ad block at the top of the page, that doesn't mean that's the one you are getting. Check for bottom of the page ad blocks or other spaces further down the page, and that's likely where you will find your non-performing ad.
