Nowadays you're better off letting search engines find your sites on their own. You only need to be concerned with 4 engines:

    1. Google
    2. Yahoo
    3. Bing
    4. Ask!

The last 2 are questionable. Many would say that only Google and Yahoo are relevant.

So, back to my original point, get some links out there to your website(s). When Google/Yahoo crawl the pages your links are on, your site(s) will be queued for indexing. Using this method, you can usually get your sites indexed by Google/Yahoo in a week or less.

This may sound silly but dont forget your local searchengines. Here in holland we have a few that are like buddies with ISPs so alot of traffic is driven through them. Oh.. and an oldy tip perhaps, but if your selling then stuff some posts on say ebay.com and have their SE efforts add up to your rank ;)

Really you dont need to submit your site link on all search engine. It will be crawled by all SE, if you really have quality content.

Baidu did not index my site automatically and there are 4 times more people in China than US...now it's indexed, after I submitted it and now I receive traffic from Baidu...so waiting for search engines to index your site can be along wait...

I guess thats why Google recommend to submit directly...

We add and update new sites to our index each time we crawl the web, and we invite you to submit your URL here. We do not add all submitted URLs to our index, and we cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they will appear. http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

Its not needed to submit your new ( or old ) website to many search engines. All searched engines find new websites ( or links) by following links on indexed websites too. ( In addition to direct submitting) .
I myself think its better that search engines find your website by following links on other websites.
Its really better from SEO accept.
But i can suggest you some programs or websites too:
    1) IBP ( Is not free)
    2) submitexpress ( Its free and submits on 40 search engines)
    3) SEO Toolkit ( Its not free and has about 2000 search engines and databases on its database to submit your website to them 100% automatically)
