Hi All, My site (vBulletin forum) is fairly new (15 days old). And when I type site:www.mywebsiteurl.com in Google search, it gives 329 results. I am not sure of that's good or bad. What I want to know is: 1) What all I can do for improving SEO ranking ? 2) Can you provide me the 'legal' directories for site submission ? (I mean, I don't want any blackhat SEO techniques. I just want the exact & official links where I can submit my site for search engines like Google, Yahoo...)
Try link:<yoursite> It will shows any site who has link back to yours. The more the better. Here one for google: http://www.google.com/addurl/ And blog about your site, it will helps promote it.
focus more on link building for your site, if it happens to be a forum then try to invite outside to join and visit your forum.this will give your site/forum a traffic...

What are exactly backlinks ? If I have my website in my signatures of other forums, will that be considered as backlink ? I have another popular website. if I give a link to this new website from that popular website, will that be considered as backlink ? Please clarify !
