Site structure strategy

Long time lurker, first time poster here.

First a bit of background - I am fairly new to Internet Marketing. I currently have a website designed mainly for Adsense and some Amazon sales. My goal has been to keep adding more and more pages of general content.

Now I want to start another site with a more specific purpose. I am trying to figure out the best way to set up a site in order to promote one or a few Clickbank products.

I have chosen a domain and have hosting in place.
I have chosen a Clickbank product that I would like to promote (and have one or two others that are somewhat related that I may wish to promote as well).

What is an effective way of structuring a site in order to promote a clickbank product? I intend to write articles to promote the site and maybe also mix in some PPC.

    1. A simple one page site with a landing page pre-selling the product? (Promoting that site through article submissions, squidoo lenses, etc.)
    2. A more thorough site with articles and other content related to the product(s)? (This would be how I set up my adsense style site, although I am a little concerned with watering down and losing focus from the main pre-sell page.)

Hopefully my question makes sense and I would be curious to hear how others have set up their sites in order to effectively promote a Clickbank product(s). Thanks.

For a 1 product site, most people ( I would assume) would say go for a landing page that will presell the product in question using your own words, feelings, experiences, etc. I find that a Wordpress blog works well when promoting 1 or more products.

    Thanks for the response.

Regarding the Wordpress landing page - (sorry if this is a stupid question) - Would I simply make a one post landing page or in order to be effective would I need to continually add posts related to the product with different targeted keywords? I would assume that more posts would be beneficial, but my concern is how much can I actually say about this product without repeating my posts or straying to far from my main objective.
