Site setup question

    A friend of mine just changed hosts and he is trying to get his ".htaccess" file to point all INVALID DESTINATION ENTRIES to direct him back to his main site.....

    Example:

    www.site.com/hello (hello is invalid)

    He want it to send them straight back to www.site.com

    Anyone know how to setup the access file to do this?? (Right now its giving a 404 error on invalid entries (It was showing the directory,but i helped him with that))

    Any help would be appreaciated....... (He's running phpBB2 for his message bases and i told him about v3 and he said he'll update when it goes final)
