Hi All, Ill try and be short; here is the timeline: * ~1.5 years ago, my site was penalised due to dodgy link building methods by the guy I then hired to be my SEO and by myself also. * Cleaned up the site myself as much as I possibly could, and I am still cleaning it to this day. * after a massive initial effort to remove paid links and spammy links (sent over 1000 email), I managed to prove to Google that my site is on its way to being clean and I have therefore been placed back in the serps. * I still regularly check the links profile of my site to see if the links I have asked to be removed are being removed. Most do not bother to remove the links. Before I continue, it’s worth mentioning that while I was banned, I had a competitor email me with what looked like a nasty threat and ridicule. 1 and a bit years later, the site is doing ok. But, over the last few weeks I started to notice some dogy links with what used to be my main anchor text when I did link building. Some of these links are on high PR pages with tiny little text as the anchor text. I have emailed the sites to complain and try and get them removed but had no reply. In two instances, the sites are very 'respected' institutions and I just can believe what I am seeing. I am considering reporting this to Google but am petrified that it will automatically remove my site again. Is there any way I can block those sites so that the links don’t follow to my page? Also, is there any way of me tracing where those links come from? I have my suspicions but can’t prove anything. We really can’t lose the site again, and I can’t tell you how much this is worrying me. When we first lost the site, we almost lost our house so that is how serious this is. Please don’t discuss whether you think paid links are good/bad. I know the answer to that from personal experience, and am only interested with direct opinions to the thread subject. Thanks,.
I am not sure how to, or who to contact.. but I would report it to Google, give them all the info you can. After a quick look around, it seems you are receiving site wide footer links on several unrelated "powered by wordpress" blogs. Unless these are from your first "link campaign" Anyway, I would try to contact someone. just to let them know that someone else is adding the links. If it does end up hurting your rankings, at least they will have records of emails from you telling them this. That may help getting the penalty lifted sooner. Good luck. Cheers James
if you are sure that the links are put by some one who want to hurt your site go ahead and contact google and see what they will tell you to do
