Hello Everyone, A site is running on two headers: 1. HTTP 2. HTTPS This is done for secure transaction reason. Q1. Is Google viewing it as two duplicate sites? Q2. Please recommend a way for resolving this. Thanks in advance for all your help and advice!
i would think it depends, do user have to login to get the secure version ? if so google won't login so won't see it. have you done a site:www.yoursite.com query to see what google has indexed ? on my site i have parts that should be secure and parts that aren't - i use 301 redirects to ensure that google and anybody else uses https for the secure bits and http for the rest.
your regular site with front page should be http, https is used only on secured pages where user log in or signs up for a secured transaction. they are usually 2 different uniques page so there is no duplicate content issue.
