    http://icypolls.com

The site has been live for about a month and in my webmaster tools on google it shows only 1 indexed URL from my sitemap. Any advice or tips would be gretaly apreciated.

    Hi,
You can create articles with your link on Ezine articles, you can use your website in your DP signature, you can digg your articles, you can make linkexchane with other related websites, you could make a press releasse, you could create a blog and submit it to different blog directories :), they are just a couple of examples...

Remember try to linkbuilding and keep active your website :)

    My 2 cents,
    Jakomo

1 indexed url in about a month isn't too bad. Regularly updating content should help.

I am creating backlinks for evey URL on the site mostly targeted group/forum postings as well as social bookmarking sites. I try to do at least 10 per URL with new ones every day. Is this recomended or should I focus on 1 URL and ramp it up?

This is the first site I am focusing on SEO and Im trying to get it right, What sitemap generator do you recommend? I am using WonderWeb Sitemap generator it's a free program that i dl'd. Updating it daily. Is there an automatic way to do this?

Also I am learing how to utilize the robots.txt file as I had a problem with my pagination sending the googlebot to infinate blank pages. I caught that and now its only crawling the URL's that have unique content.

    Thanks for the input.

I agree with everyone else. It takes a long time for Google to index new sites so just keep promoting and building back links. I would also suggests changing your page title (<title></title>) currently it is "Icy Polls |". That tells me nothing about your site :) your description and keywords are fine.

Edit you may also want to change the link in your sig. While it does look nice it's not good for SEO because no one would ever search for "IcyPolls Free Poll creation website. Add your CPA's or any ad for $5.99/mo - Unlimited Polls!", if your change it to "free poll creation website" it would be much better for SEO. You can still have all the text in your sig but it's better for SEO if you only use anchor text people search for.
