    Wow.!!

How could a commercial site be removed after 5 years..?

I read some similar threads and I can only guess that it's because of:

1.) server being down temporarily or
2.) the editor thinks the site is an affiliate site.

Yes, we do have "some" affiliate links like Yahoo and others do but we do offer a viable business in originating mortgage loans as stated on the "about us" page along with our company address.

    uhhh commercial site = partner & affiliates...duhhh

Does Google adsense get lumped in with this too.? that coudl be a reason as we just started using adsense 3 months ago.

Occasionally, we will give some business to a "direct partner" ( not affiliate ) on account of some states we just cannot do business in since we are not licensed there. However, we do offer our services for the majority of the USA, so we are nationwide.
Also, there's a lot of unique content: daily news from rss feeds, program descriptions ( not copied; others have copied us !! ) and articles.

The site design and content is MUCH BETTER than 5 years ago.

Perhaps, the editor did not investigate enough and just lumped us in with the 1000's of other garbage mortgage affiliate sites. There is a site with same name as ours but it is ".com" and we are ".net". They are located 100 miles south of us.
The ".com" site is actually down as of today and being re-directed elsewhere and still listed in DMOZ. !!
    Go figure.

Anyway, since it's a link as any other..no worries right.? as DMOZ is losing it's authoritative status listing adult oriented sites and still has many bona-fide affiliate sites. Guess they're going down like Yahoo.

What directories are considered very authoritative to Google ?

What is the URL, maybe someone could take a look and make sure it wasn't a mistake. If it was unreview because of a server being down, maybe it could be put back.

Post the URL so that we can take a look at it.
compostannie is right, maybe its due to temporary server down.

    url is; http://www.loanshoppers.net

now look at the ".com" which is not us. they were getting free traffic from us

since folks think ".com" 1st. The site does nothing differently than any other real estate company. Site name does not equal business name and we took off the real phone number because of webmaster constant link marketing calls and others.
