Site Relevant vs. More Searched

Is it better to have more descriptive Meta Tags that have a lower search number 200,000 or words that are only vaguely related but have 28,000,000 searches daily?

For example lets say I am doing a site on gardening. Would it be better to place meta tags that are more relevant (Garden, gardening, etc) that are searched less or to search for agriculture which is searched way more?

traffic is much important, don't focus much on metas, for traffic may give you good conversion.

Try to be as specific as possible - you will always be able to expand the keywords as your site gets promoted

In this case, with my gaming site, should I try to match the words as closely to the actual content as possible?

Also, is there a set number of terms you want to use? Is less more? How many is too many?

If you're talking about keyword meta tags, they have very little importance.
Use your keywords in titles, headers, content and anchor text, and don't even consider using keywords that aren't relevant to your content.

The meta description is the text that is going to show up under your URL in the SERPs so if you want to attract users and make people to click on your company, then you'd better put relevant content.

The meta keyword is pretty much ignored by SE's and if not doesn't weight much so it doesn't really matter what you do there.

The title is NOT a meta tag.

As long as tags are relevant, It's not really necessary to write out a full description about your site as one tag. Single word that are all associated to your content work fine and will get you the same amount of views.

I really don't agree with this at all.
Your description tag is a chance to write a little promo, a little ad for your site to appear as your snippet, and entice people to click on your link in preference to the others on offer. A list of single words will not have the same appeal.
