I am redesigning my main personal web site http://tmackinnon.com/ comments and feedback welcomed if it will help improve things but I am more interest to know that it works okay on different browsers, resolutions, platforms, OS etc I know there are some dead links etc, currently working on that aspect I sometimes tend to find that things look fine on my laptop only to discover that it doesnt look so great on somebody elses. I am using laptop with XP - using IE7 & firefox 1280x1024 screen
I will say that the design of the site looks pretty nice. It has a centered body and everything works nicely, and everything is in a place you would expect to find it. However, I do notice that you use 2 completely different fonts for your body and sidebar respectively. One is a serif font and the other is sans-serif, which looks very awkward because not only is one larger than the other, but the line-height is different as well, so it really stands out and doesn't fit. I would suggest with sticking to one or the other, and keep them the same throughout the whole site. I also think that the small icons at the bottom of the page should have some type of text to see what they do. When you hover over them you can tell where they lead from the URL, but not everybody who visits your site will be that smart, and you have to account for user accessibility. Those are my suggestions, hope they help.
thanks for the input, I will check my css file on that font issue, i may of cut and paste something by mistake, and the icon comment are great too, as i hadn't finished that part yet
