Ill keep it simple how much would it cost to re-code my site, to make use of better on page SEO.

My current html/css is too long, how much would it cost to make it w3scools valid? I dont think there is too much work to be done as i started of the site in notepad but because off lack in spare time started using dreamweaver.

Do i need to ask for a quote per page? Or per pages needed?

It all depends on a few things.

How many pages does the site have?
Is it all static? Or does it use a template file or database?

It has quite a few but if the person charges for all the pages, i will only need 3 doing.

I think its all static, it uses mix of images and css styling as its template. It has an external css document but because lack of time i used dreamveawer and there is allot of useless css and html in the main html file.

Oh right, i'd have thought a site that big would use dynamic code (maybe it does).

If it's static then i'd charge you $30/page to make it XHTML valid code and code in a few things to help with SEO (the use of headers properly, etc). I don't know if you could find someone to do it cheaper, i'm just going by what I would charge as an experienced coder.
