The weirdest thing is happening to me. When I am signed in to gmail and I go to Google I get different rankings then I would if I was signed out for my keyword. Which is the right way, and why is this happening?, and why would Google display different rankings like this? Thanks for any help,
Yes it happens, when you check a site or link lot of time while you are signed in with google, google will place those sites in top 10. It happens with me as well.
i'm guessing google just checks your prefrences and provides the most commonly used links at the top of your results =]
The same thing happens to me. I think google ranks your most visited sites high for certain keywords. That way your favorite sites rank at the top of the list. To get the "real" results, you should log out of your gmail account and clear all of your cookies.
Well the crazy thing for me is I actually get better results when I am logged out. When I am logged in, I am like on the next page or worse. At first I thought maybe this is where I am going to end up, but I don't think that is the outcome hopefully. I am experiencing this when I am logged into webmaster tools as well. If I am ranking number one for a keyword in webmaster tools, and I go to Google and I see I am number one, I then log out and hit refresh and I am in the middle of the page or the next page. I don't know.
same here, I got confuse. . . sometimes my site shows on top 1 position but if I get off to my account its not in top 100. How is this happen?how google works on this?
mm No changes on my side... it may be the datacenter you guys are hitting... I'll try clearing my cookies and checking once again...
It happens because when you are logged onto google and you make a google search for something, right next to each website that shows up in the search is an option for you to rank it higher, if you ever ranked it higher then it will show up first when you are logged on to google.
That will be google personalized search - sign out for the more adequate results. Also, keep the global rankings in mind.
Yes this is very true. I've also noticed this thing but it shows the actual ranking when you are not logged in.
