Site ranked at no.1 for all keywords, yet PR0?!?

I have a forum http://www.pofusers.com that gets no.1 rankings on practically all of it's keywords. It has facebook and wikipedia links and a large majority of the site is indexed in Google.

What I don't get is why my site is still PR0. What else can I do to increase the PR. I'd rather not submit to spammy directory sites.

Another thing that really bugs me is that if I do link:http://www.pofusers.com it says I only have one backlink, whereas if you search google for my url, you will see 57,000 matches

 

Your PR can take a very long time to update. Best advice that I can give is to not focus on your PR, or even your Alexa rank for that matter. I have seen sites with an alexa rank of 20k that have a PR0, and they are doing extremely well. Dont worry too much about it, focus on the bigger picture, being your SEO and maintaining your spot on your #1 perch.

 

If you score #1, why care about your PR? The only thing I'm interested in is the number of visitors I get.

 

Maybe your site is still new , that is why it is showing pr0 , whenever there is a pr update your pr would most likely increase , though for forums i guess , pr is not much important , just concentrate on quality traffic.

 

If I were you, I wouldn't be worrying about PR. I mean, you're number 1 for your chosen keyword. Why worry about a little number? It's a good thing to have a high PR but you've got a good ranking in the SERP'S.

Like others said, why worry about PR if your forum ranks #1 for most all of its targeted keyword phrases? How your URLs rank for a particular keyword phrase and the PR of that same URL have very little to do with one another. PR0 sites often outrank other sites with higher PR for various keyword phrases. PR is a measure of link popularity - quantity and quality of your inbound links. It's often possible to rank for keyword phrases with no external links. It simply depends on the keyword phrases you are targeting and how competitive they are.

 

Why does it matter? I have a PR 3 home page, but only #20 in SERPS. Want to trade results? lol. Be happy with what you have, during the next update things could be different. I'd give Angela and Paul's backlinks a try for a PR increase.

 

Don't worry about PR. The traffic is important and you are first on google, so relax and enjoy...

 

PR is just about how many links your page has and it means nothing in the rankings. You could have high PR but crappy on page and off page SEO. Your ranking #1 for your Keywords and that's all that matters.

 

Keep the traffic and keep the spot ... The rest will follow

 

you can use some link building job for this....................and if you can get some high PR links then it will be easier for you to get page rank to your forum.............................

 

As you already know, Page Rank is updated every 3-4 months, you should not concern about your PR , care about your visitors and how to monetize your traffic.

 

PR lags behind for a long time. PR in my opinion is irrelevant.

 

Many thanks for the replies, I'm not going to worry too much about PR now, I did work extremely hard at the SEO, my site has 100% static URL's and no duplicates at all. The url structure has been completely rewritten into english words so google is loving it.

 

Peculiar situation, same here, i have a website and my situation was thus
It is a specific niche in aviation industry, so you can imagine the competition
I got No.1 say in around an years time and had a PR4 for my site
Now the competitors i suppose was unable to digest that a small time guy was getting No.1
So they found a unique methods (damn i suppose some idiot SEO guy suggested it to them) to report my website to google for paid links on my site, i agree i used to sell and those guys went and reported
What happened google pulled down my PR but the rankings remain same, now they do not know what to do further, i am at No.1 since last 3 years without PR
So what for do you need PR? that is the big question
More than 90% internet users are not aware of PR and also do no install google toolbar and they are our customers, not the regular webmasters

 

Getting pagerank and getting traffic are two different things entirely. In your case, I would say concentrate on getting traffic and pagerank will follow automatically.

 

google only updates pr about every 3 months, type PR Prediction in google and there is a tool that will predict your future pr

 

PR is not that important , what is important is traffic.

 

I have analyzed your website and i need to mention that your site is new and also you dont have that much backlinks to get a higher PR. Getting a link from wiki alone doesn't increase your Page rank. So get many backlinks so that you will rank high.

 

Get those links from high pr sites you will no have a problem ...
